The project involves the supply, installation, and commissioning of modernized components for PEMEX-owned drilling rigs PM-206, PM-305, PM-341, PM-335, PM-338, PM-2005, and PM-331. Key components include Canrig’s C750-865 Top Drives (750 tons / 1150 HP), PC4000 automated tubular handling systems, and TM-200 power tongs. It also covers the provision of main drawworks, integrated driller cabins, and Power Control and Distribution Systems (PCR) for both 2000 HP and 3000 HP rigs. Conversion kits will be supplied to upgrade mud pump motors from DC to AC, along with a central hydraulic power unit (HPU), masts and substructures for both rig types, and adaptations for 2000 HP masts to support Canrig top drives. Additional components include crown and traveling blocks, monkeyboard platforms, dead line anchors, rotary tables, hydraulic mousehole clamps, BOP handling systems, water and air systems, static and dynamic service loops, auxiliary drawworks, EZY Torque winches, drilling cables, mast lighting systems, hoisting drawworks, lightning rods, counterweights, and grasshopper mechanisms.

The scope of work entails full installation, interconnection, testing, and commissioning of all systems, supported by specialized technical personnel certified by the equipment manufacturers. The project aims to reduce drilling costs, enhance operational safety, lower emissions, and help PEP meet future hydrocarbon demands. It also supports the company’s goal of maintaining a cutting-edge fleet that reflects innovation and technological leadership, while improving reliability, availability, operational efficiency, and mechanical integrity across all rigs.
